MIKULOV CHATEAU - REGIONAL MUSEUM IN MIKULOV MIKULOV The town of Mikulov is situated about 50 km east of Brno, directly at the border of the Czech Republic and Austria. The town situated at the foot of the snow-white Pavlov Hills is an attractive tourist destination and is part of the Pálava tourist destination and Lednice-Valtice Cultural Heritage area. Mikulov with its rich historical background was a residence of powerful aristocratic families - the Liechtensteins and the Dietrichsteins - for centuries. It is one of the ancient stately homes that were not affected by the last century's rapid development and expansion, and it is therefore proudly represented by outstanding architectural sights. The town and its surroundings belong to traditional wine-making centres.
