VÝPUSTEK CAVE It belongs among the most significant cave systems of the Moravian Karst. It has a rich and largely sad history. In the 19th century many researchers were exploring the cave, detailed maps were drawn and a series of speleological and paleontological research studies took place there. In the 1920s the cave was seriously affected by mining of phosphatic clay. In 1938 the underground unique specimen was taken over by the Czechoslovak army as munitions storage. During World War II a factory for plane engines was created there by the German army. After the war, speleological research took place there, but from the 1960s the army got hold of the cave again and created an underground fallout shelter there. In 2008 the cave was opened to the public.
